Carers provide 4 Paws Animal Rescue with the chance to save animals from death row in pounds and shelters .. foster carers temporarily provide care and shelter for pets in their own homes until a permanent home can be found .. this takes a lot of time and dedication .. it is a huge commitment .. but by knowing that you have not only helped save an animal from death row .. you have loved and placed it safely into a forever home with a very happy future to look forward to, you will find that fostering an animal can be an incredibly rewarding experience.
Some foster cares like to foster a particular sort of pet from 4 Paws .. you can specify which breed or X breed and age you want .. for example you may only want to take a small dog that will get along with cats .. or a large outdoor dog that wants to go on long walks .. and romp and play with the kids .. others find kittens and puppies are less threatening to their own dog/cat or small children .. some would rather foster an older cat or dog that will be a gentle companion.
4 Paws is very flexible as we all have the one common goal .. to protect and care for the animals in our care.

A member of our management team will meet you and do a property inspection
4 Paws meet all costs relating to your foster pet/s
You agree to become a Member of 4 Paws Animal Rescue
You have a fully fenced secure yard
If in a rental property .. a signed letter from the Landlord giving permission to have an animal on the property is required.
Have the ability to transport the foster pet to any necessary vet appointments .. if not we will need to talk about options.
If you find that you are struggling with a foster pet .. let us know .. we are committed to obtaining the best outcome for both the foster carer and the foster animal.
Some pets take longer to find homes than others .. if you find that you are unable to continue fostering .. then contact 4 Paws .. under no circumstances do you pass one of our animals onto someone else .. they must be returned to 4 Paws Animal Rescue.
We understand that sometimes issues do arise .. you may wish to go on holidays or an emergency occurs .. just remember we are only a phone call away and will always support you throughout the process and will always accept the animal back until you are ready to resume.
We ask all foster carers of our cats and kittens not to let them go outside.
If a foster carer wishes to adopt their foster pet this can be done by contacting one of the 4 Paws Team .. once approved the arrangements can be made for the adoption.
When we/you find a permanent home for the foster pet .. an adoption fee is paid by the new owner and 4 Paws will use money to save more abandoned animals.
4 Paws Animal Rescue often receives donations of goods such as food .. blankets .. medication and toys which can be passed onto carers at their request.
When your foster pet finds its new permanent home you can often feel quite teary and rightfully so .. after all you have just given an animal a second chance at life .. but let us remember there are many more abandoned .. abused and neglected animals waiting to be saved from death row and taken to your home and so it will start all over again .. without you The Wonderful Foster Carers .. where do they go!!

It is better to light a candle for one lost dog than to curse the darkness of man's indifference .. saving just one dog will not change the world but it surely will change the world for that one dog.
